Seedbox plant?!

This is not exactly about Nonviolent Communication, or is it?

So, it’s June 2024, and I just discovered that there is a plant, or plants, referred to as “seedbox” (ludwigia alternifolia for one). Having named my website “the seedbox” in 2010, and having been an avid gardener for decades, with an increasing focus on native plants, I am flabbergasted to learn of this interesting native plant by this name! I immediately started searching for them, and learned there is a native garden place north of me that I will be passing on my travels this weekend, that appears to have some in stock! Since all of the plant photos on this website are ones I have taken, I can’t wait to have the opportunity to photograph this plant and post it here. Stay tuned! (Meanwhile, you can peruse this lovely post I found online: https://the-natural-web.org/2020/02/29/the-artistry-of-seedbox/)

Update 6/16/24: Today I visited Earth Sangha (so synchronous) and met the Seedbox plant in person for the first time. I came home with 5 and photographed them like super models. I am excited to begin experiencing this plant. I put my favorite photo at the top of this page.

Update 6/17/24: Today I photographed seedbox again and the sun had bent her direction during the day.

and then I noticed… 😳😆

Update 7/27/24: Today I had the thrill of seeing Seedbox in the wild!

Update 8/7/24: Spied the first seedbox seed head!

Update 10/30/24: After sheltering them in the shade during the hot summer, finally planted them today. I hope they come back next year!
